Index Protector 5 MVA Calculator
The Index Protector 5 MVA features a market value adjustment (MVA) that applies during the first five contract years. An MVA will apply if the contract is surrendered or if a withdrawal exceeding the 10% MVA-free withdrawal amount is taken. An MVA may increase or decrease contract values depending on changes in the MVA index interest rate since the contract effective date.

The estimated MVA rate is calculated as of the date prior to the input date. The calculator determines an MVA amount based on that rate and includes the estimated MVA amount in the surrender value shown above.
The surrender value shown above is not the account value or the surrender value of any actual contract, which may be higher or lower.
The calculator does not take into account any amount excluded from the MVA as an MVA-free withdrawal or the limits set by the maximum MVA. These factors could reduce the estimated MVA amount. In the case of a positive MVA, this reduction would result in an increase in the surrender value. In the case of a negative MVA, this reduction would result in a decrease in the surrender value.
